Give me a character/pairing from any fandom I participate in and I'll give you one fanon that I don't agree with.

Lol, I actually had the first one and a bit of the second one in mind when I asked the question, myself, but I wanted to see if those were what you'd bring to mind first. XD;

I have to agree 100%, though. Konan was very close to Yahiko and Nagato, and I suppose it's possible she loved both of them equally, but in different ways. I think, though, in my mind, Yahiko was a bit apart from Konan+Nagato, simply because Konan is a natural comfort-giver and Yahiko MOSTLY (except for that one :Flashback) did not need her comfort. He was always up ahead talking about his own :FFF while Nagato and Konan were kind of holding back looking perplexed. She and Nagato were just on the same quiet, introverted wavelength, I think.

I will also add that in those fics with the premise you're talking about, a lot of times Nagato is portrayed as so sad that he can't have Konan's affections, and so jealous of the relationship between Konan and Yahiko. I really hate that, too, because it assumes the emo kid is really given to jealousy of his friends, when in the flashbacks we saw, he never seemed at all unsure of his place with the other two, or like he resented anything about their friendship, even if they were actually together first and thus he may have had some legitimate reason for jealousy. But no, he was always lost in his own little :FFF world, even as a child.

As to the abuse: Yes, I see that sometimes, too, and I agree. Pain is not abusive to Konan. Lol, if anything, he's abusive to HIMSELF and he hurts her from his SELF-abuse, which is still douchey, but it's a bit different. XD;
