I don't usually do this. In fact, I don't think I've ever done this before, but I read a little fic last night that was so good, so beautifully written, and so appalingly underrated that I had to pimp it and try to get it the attention it deserves. It always baffles and irritates me that little jewels like this slip through the cracks of fandom while so many nonsensical, juvenile trainwrecks get dumped onto Fanfiction.net and pull in 100 reviews per chapter. The reading level (and maybe intellectual level) for this fic might be higher than the average 16yr old fantard's interest or ability to appreciate, but I know there are many older fans out there (like me) who do appreciate and even crave those rare works of fanfiction that rise above the pollution clogging The Pit.

It's a Pein/Konan, and is a beautiful character study as well as a poetic introspection into their tragic relationship of madness, love, and devotion. Even if you're not particularly into this pairing, or just haven't read anything for them before, I recommend you give it a try.
