There are a few I can think of, but the first one that pops into my head is Bill/Sookie. Not even counting that he only appeared in her life because he was ordered to... The night they met she had his blood, which creates a bond and a compulsive physical attraction. Aside from his orders to get close to her, he was mostly drawn to her because of her special quality. We'll never know if there was a genuine, un-tampered-with attraction there, but I doubt it. Bill is a possessive, controlling, manipulative chauvinist ass, and Sookie always had a problem with it despite her uncontrollable affection for him. I can't remember ever seeing a single moment of genuine emotional chemistry between them.

Oh, Bill.

I honestly can't get too invested in him and Sookie breaking up because regardless of how bad he is for her, Sookie doesn't seem to care when she finds out any of this stuff. It makes me worry that if a friend of mine was ever in a bad relationship, I might just throw up my hands at a certain point.

Oh I agree that Sookie is way too forgiving about the things she goes through, and not just with Bill. But have you watched S03? Sookie finally learns everything Bill has done, and for the moment at least, she's mad enough to want to kill him. If only.

I have watched all of season three. But I have no expectations that Sookie's annoyance will stick.

It will if the writers plan at all to stay true to canon. She never forgives Bill for all that he's done, and they never reconcile. After a fling or two in between, she ends up with Eric.

Although I feel that television in general and what the show has done so far have given me different expectations than the books did.

God I agree. I have been saying this forever...almost since the first episode: "Um...I don't get why they're so into each other...?"

People say I'm a hater, but I'm not - I am just not into couples that are all "I'm in love now yay" for no reason - especially when bad shit keeps happening. Anywho, I want her with Eric or for complete CRACK Pam because she is ridiculously awesome, but I am avoiding spoilers (AKA Not reading any books *lol*) so I'll have to sit here anxiously as events unfold. :)

I never got it either. And the funny thing is Anna Paquin and Steven Moyer are married in real life. I think she has more on-screen chemistry with Alexander Skarsgard.

And I don't know if it's that they lack physical chemistry...I just don't care much for Bill as a character. And my flatmates and I rather dislike his southern accent - he should have kept his real accent. It's sexier. *shrug*

Anyway...I just kind of see it as Bill's a boring jerk and Eric's an intense sexpot. ^^
