I was interested when I heard about it, but I thought "oh a remake of La Femme Nikita,, I don't know how good it will be..."
Then some of my Flist were gushing about it so I watched the pilot...and I was sold, particularly by the ending. Lots of smart, sexy, badass women doing smart, sexy, badass things. It's kind of like Alias (one of my alltime fave shows) only Nikita is a little sleeker and darker than Sydney.

Being such a green whippersnapper I had not heard of the original until I heard of this new show. Looking at the previews, I think it's cool that Maggie Q is getting such a cool role but I was wary that it's all about sex appeal... Is her character well-developed? Granted it's only just started, but I mean, does she seem different than a stereotypical asskicker with boobs? (I only put it like that because really that's how they make it sometimes!)

First, Maggie Q doesn't have much in the boobs dept. Lol. But no, even though its only 4 episodes in the plot is very complex, little tidbits of story are revealed at just the right moments, and all the primary characters are deep and multifaceted. You can definitely see Nikita struggle with the role she sets for herself as the hardhearted femme fatale. I definitely recommend watching it.

And for the record I was 9 when the original series came out. I never really watched it. I'm just leery of remakes in general. They're made to capitalize on the new generation and usually aren't as good as the original. XD

Good to hear- I was also "Didn't they already do this show fifteen or so years ago?" so I haven't watched it yet... But everyone *does* seem to be talking about it.

(It makes me all nostalgic for Xena/original Le Femme Nikita/Highlander era tv. ;) )

Oh wow, I loved Highlander! They still play reruns on TV and sometimes I tune in for a few minutes just for a dose of nostalgia. I never got into Xena though. I thought Hercules was really hokey and I knew Xena was a spinoff, so I just never gave it a chance.

Xena and Hercules were not even in the same ballpark, lol. (But I hear you on Herc. Poor Kevin what's-his-name and his silly dialog.)

Xena was all kickass women, amazons, fighting goods, bad people making the choice to be good and working at it, random trips to Egypt, some random lesbian leanings I didn't pick up on when I was in grade/middle school, and actual character development. First show I ever really fell in love with back in the day. ;)

Highlander was AMAZING. <3 <3 <3 (And hot. There were many hot people on things about that show.)
