1. I loved Leafygirl's KakaSaku fics so much I decided to read her other work, and I discovered Loophole. It was one of the only ItaSaku fics at the time, and even now it's still one of the best.

2. Obviously that they're on opposite sides. Even if it's only on the surface.

3. That they are such different types of people, yet they really mesh well, providing strength where the other has weakness.

4. That circumstances prevented them from ever really knowing each other.

5. Nothing really, because they are complete and total crack. XD

6. Kakashi for Sakura, and a random civilian girl for Itachi.

1. I don't remember what led me to read it in the first place, but it was Leafygirl's Fated.

2. Their challenges are obviously the age difference and that their respective generations are very different in regards to how they see the world. And of course the student/teacher issue, which I actually think is less of an issue than it normally would be because he was only her teacher for a short time.

3. When they actually have page time together, their personalities are such that they have an undeniable chemistry. When this is worked into fanfic, they often develop this awesome banter. They're both wicked smart and seem to "get" each other more than their other teammates. Did I mention they look frackin hot together? XD

4. That it will never be canon.

5. Um, how about the one they just had where he (very uncharacteristically) told her to get lost because she was weak and useless? Yeah, that one. I know he was talking to her AND Naruto, but it seemed mostly directed at her. Fuck you Kishimoto.

6. For Sakura, at this point, probably Naruto. Sai would make me happy as well. For Kakashi, I dunno. If I had to pick someone on the spot, maybe Kurenai; they're close friends and shes a widow. Could make for angsty hotness. XD

7. That they would heal each other. Sakura has a broken heart, and realistically, trust and commitment issues attached to that. Kakashi has serious survivor's guilt and loneliness/depression. I think the loyalty, stability, and compassion they would bring to each other would help them both tremendously.

Shizune/Genma and Hinata/Naruto.

Shizune/Genma:

1. When I saw this http://www.onemanga.com/Naruto/184/15/ where they both shush their other teammates at the same time, and then definitely when this happened. http://www.onemanga.com/Naruto/185/06-07/. A few pages later she tells Genma to shut up before he overstrains himself. XD

2. I don't think they really have one. I think they would be one of the more stable couples in Konoha. The idea of Genma being a womanizer is complete fanon and so I do not acknowledge it as a possible conflict.

3. They are teammates, and I'm assuming they were before Shizune left with Tsunade as well, since she just slipped right back into their group without any issues. I like to imagine they have a long history/were kids together/maybe even sweethearts before she left.

4. They're both awesome characters who don't get enough page time.

5. Nothing, really.

6. Dont know for Genma, but I think he would be one of the best catches in Konoha, because he's just as hot as, say, Kakashi or Sasuke, but without even half of the baggage. For Shizune...hmm, maybe Kakashi?

7. They don't have all the drama surrounding them like the other characters, so I just see them settling into a stable, happy, sexy relationship. XD

Naruto/Hinata:

1. I think from the beginning, because Hinata was an adorably weird stalker and the complete opposite of the obnoxious attention-whore fangirls surrounding Sasuke. And because she was one of the ONLY girls not obsessed with Sasuke.

2. Their challenges are her family, their own insecurities, and the fact that Naruto is dense as a rock and constantly distracted by the drama in his life.

3. They are so cute you want to puke. The few little moments they've had together are just full of WAFF. They are both underdogs, and I love rooting for the underdogs.

4. That Kishimoto has no idea how human relationships actually work and relies heavily on shounen manga formulae; boy defeats rival/enemy and his dreamgirl becomes his trophy reward, regardless of how she felt originally or whether there is someone better out there.

5. How about what moment I wish WOULD happen: that Naruto would take a second out of his Sasudrama life and TALK to Hinata about what she did during the attack. Even if its just to let her down gently. Ignoring it is a real dick move. Naruto isnt a dick, but Kishi just hates his female characters.

6. Maybe Kiba for Hinata because he seems to really care about her. For Naruto...I guess Sakura, but only in that it prevents a SasuSaku (or SasuNaru!) outcome.

7. The only way they'll get one is if Kishimoto hands the series over for someone else to finish. Preferably a woman.

1. Oh it was probably the moment when he held her against the tree and took her necklace. XD

2. Her grudges against his people, his ingrained prejudices & snobbery, and getting around Aang's puppylove attachment to her.

3. The steamy steamy UST. Even Kataang fans cant deny their chemistry.

4. That ALTA is a kids show and therefore couldn't allow a relationship like zutara, nor could they have an honest love triangle.

5. The obligatory hookups at the end of the series, especially Katara becoming Aang's trophy prize despite her obvious reservations.

6. No one. They are badly matched with their canon partners.

My message is in response to your post regarding being willing to answer the indicated questions about pairings. I'm working on an Itachi-Sakura story and I have a rough idea of how I want it to go but I'm searching for inspiration that will help me improve the specifics. I have read Perception and Vespertine and I can on honestly say that I admire your work, I still go back and read the two stories occasionally.
