Vespertine Ch.1
Mar. 25th, 2009 06:56 pmThe new fic is finally posted, nearly 3 months later than I anticipated. Lol. Ive been working on it (in sekrit) for a while and I really like where its going. This one has a different tone, more somber I guess, but I think its going to turn out to be one of my better works. I hope you all enjoy it. : )

Date: 2009-03-26 04:35 pm (UTC)I remember you once mentioned it's going to be a short multi-chapter... and I can only fantasize that as you were working on it, some details fleshed out and it got longer... Hey, a girl can dream, right?
ItaSaku is my most favourite pairing and so rarely done well. This will be a masterpiece. Because he doesn't die in the end, like in the most wonderful and right yet somewhat tragic Perception. I know that already :) Well, at least I hope I know that :D

Date: 2009-03-29 05:21 am (UTC)I was just browsing through my favourite moments in Perception, and it hit me. To me, in all Naruto fandom there has not been a better ItaSaku fic. None. Because of the way you see and describe both of them, your particular interpretations. But that fic is so interspersed with sadness, that I could not bring myself to even look at the later chapters; my heart was clenching remembering Itachi's death.
Having another ItaSaku from you with the promise of eventual redemption - with the chance of him living and being with her - it's so piercing just to have this possibility. The fic I expect to go back to after you finish it and reread it without dread. So yes, I am just ridiculously happy at this prospect.
So please - if you do intend to kill him, please please please tell me now. I will still read and absolutely love it, I am sure - but I don't want to go through the awful emotional roller coaster. In Perception, his death was the only ending that felt right. I started to feel that about mid-way. I just don't want to go through that again...

Date: 2009-03-29 07:20 am (UTC)Its true that in Perception there was no real way for them to be together and still be who they were, and so Itachi's death was the only sort of closure they could have. But this is a very different Itachi in Vespertine. This is the REAL Itachi, who was not a villain. Circumstances can be very different for them in this story. :)
