Well now that Ive read it, it wasn't as bad as the spoilers made it seem. I still think Sakura should have fought Sasuke for a bit before Kakashi showed up, and she shouldn't have let Sasuke get the jump on her. But I like that she doesn't look at him with any sort of bewilderment or longing in her expression. She knows what he's become, and she's made up her mind about him.

And of course you know I loved the moments between Kakashi and Sakura. XD I thought it was really well executed, which is rare for Kishi.

I've felt for a while that Sasuke is completely irredeemable, and this chapter seals it. Throwing Karin away like garbage, fatally wounding her after all the times she saved his life (seriously, he would have died 5 times over), and now genuinely attempting to kill Sakura... He has to die. There is no saving his character. I think killing him will be Naruto's final trial on the path to leadership and adulthood. He has to understand that not everyone can be saved, sometimes you have to let go.

I was waiting for this chapter to officially come out before commenting on it, but yes I agree with you. On everything. His intent to kill Karin and now Sakura has likely sealed his fate. I say likely because one never knows what's gonna happen in this story, but logically speaking yes, Sasuke can't come back from this. He's doomed himself. I'm waiting for all of Taka to turn against him now and really cast him off, and out, for the treacherous snake he's become.

I also think it was better than I thought. And if Sasuke was planning on killing her intentionally, perhaps she wouldn't have had much time to react anyway as I'm sure he's much faster than her. I wish that she'd learn some cool new things though which would make her not seem so weak against people like him.

I'm glad that no one can argue that Sasuke will come back to Konoha or see the errors of his ways now (at least not in the forseeable future). He's kind of gone past the point of no return. I'll be glad when he dies because I stopped liking him a long time ago.

*claps to this* I agree with everything you've said. It's a sad thing to say but I really hope Sasuke does die. Maybe he'll have an enlightened moment in the very end but honestly his character just needs to go.

Agreeing on everything, except for the fact that Kishimoto WILL NOT kill Sasuke for the following reasons:

1. He has stated a couple times that Sasuke is his It Guy. In fact, I think there was an interview where he actually said he would redo the series TO focus on Sasuke if he could. And seeing as he has a hard time killing off incredibly minor characters, I don't see him having the stones to kill his favorite.

2. The manga is geared toward younger peeps, so to have Sasuke's death be the right of passage for Naruto into adulthood is bad PR. I doubt his editors would allow that. It sends a bad message to the kiddies ou there.

3. Naruto, the character, is all about the love thang. He'll probably face Sasuke, smack him around a little, and then pull a pacifist stance by not fighting back because killing Sasuke isn't the right thing to do. Who cares that the asshole probably deserves it quite a bit? Naruto's above that sort of thing.

I have to agree with this. Just look at Gaara; remember the crazy beast he used to be? And yet, he's been completely forgiven since. The only reason why we react so strongly to Sasuke is that he's threatening the characters we all know so well.

I think not all is lost just yet. Karin is still alive, and so is Sakura. I'm not saying that Sasuke should walk away unpunished - he definitely deserves to have his ass whopped and, preferably, his head thoroughly examined as well - but I do hope that he'll survive in the end.

However, if he kills Kakashi (and right before Naruto's eyes, too), that might just seal his fate, though even then I would find his death objectionable. Let us hope Naruto will be there in time to help his former sensei in case he'll become an underdog - i.e. Kishimoto's not planning on smashing up everything he's been building all these years.

Oh, some people still believe Sasuke will redeem himself in the end, though I don't see how he can. I'm glad, at least, that the SasuSaku fans cant possibly continue spinning canon into their fantasy, believing he's secretly cared about her all along. Because of his recent asshattery, there's no possibility of a SasuSaku outcome. Small favors, eh?

Ugh. You're probably right. What was I thinking, trying to predict things on a rational level? Kishi is such a Sauce fanboy of course there won't be any consequences for him. All will be forgiven, including the attempted murders of his closest friends. I don't doubt for a second that Kishi would redo the series to be about Sasuke (it mostly is anyway), even though no one wants to read about the hax adventures of an arrogant asshole who's never had to struggle for anything in his life.

I really don't see how he can redeem himself. ALthough I do worry that the power Itachi gave to Naruto will somehow change Sasuke into a "good" guy again by some bullshit that Kishi pulls out of his arse.
